Ice Hockey Skills Academy

The Hockey Academy is designed to challenge and inspire each participant. Access to expert instruction and high intensity training provide students with a unique opportunity to excel in hockey. The hockey academy also offers students the opportunity to develop life-skills such as organizational strategies, time management skills, visualization techniques and self-discipline.

  • When enrolled in the Hockey Academy the students will average 12 ice sessions per month.
  • On-ice sessions include hockey fundamentals such as skating, puck-handling, checking, passing, and tactics.
  • When students are not on ice they are exposed to sport specific fitness training, boxing, yoga, Off-ice sessions include also team-building, cross-training, weight training, uni-hockey, floor hockey, mental training, character development and various field trips.
  • Every day, players are working on either shooting or stickhandling, and they are learning some new aspects of the game.
  • The academy also provides video analysis of each student’s stride and shooting techniques.
  • The Hockey Academy is open to boys and girls at varying levels of skill development. Students take their core academic subjects in the morning and participate in the sports academy in the afternoon.
  • The academies offer dedicated training in Ice-Hockey as well as cross-training and fitness activities.
  • Admission to the sport academy is dependent upon satisfactory standing in academic courses.
  • The fees for this hockey program are $240.00 per month.
  • The Academy runs from September through June.
