Community and Location

Victoria is the capital city of British Columbia and is known for its natural beauty and quality of life. It enjoys a mild climate (22°C in summer / 6° in the winter). This temperate climate permits one to enjoy a wide variety of sports throughout the year. With a population of about 360,000 people Victoria has many advantages of a lager metropolitan city while retaining the comfort of a smaller city. Its location on southern Vancouver Island puts it in close proximity to Canada’s mainland and the Pacific Northwest of the United States. The Island’s great natural beauty is reflected in the region’s many provincial and national parks.

The area around Sooke, located in the south west of Vancouver Island, belongs to greater Victoria, capital city of B.C. At the same time it is the gateway to Canada’s west coast. This friendly community is the starting-point for every kind of outdoor-activity as well as for relaxation at one of its numerous beaches.

Schools

To this school district belong two secondary High Schools:

Belmont Secondary School
